HessenHub OER Award 2022 for Pascal Mosler
Pascal Mosler, research assistant at the IIB, was awarded the first OER Prize of the HessenHub. Pascal Mosler received the prize for creating explanatory videos for the course “Geometric Modelling and Visualisation I”. The HessenHub is a network for digital university teaching in Hesse that awards educational resources under free licence (Open Educational Resources) with the OER prize.

As part of the teaching and research cooperation between the Institute of Urban Design at TU Graz and the Institute for Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering at TU Darmstadt (iib), a workshop for architecture students was held in Graz.

On May 1, 2022 Mr. Oskar Neumann, M.Sc. starts his work as a research assistant at the Institute of Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering. In the coming terms Mr. Neumann will supervise the courses “Engineering Informatics I” and “Engineering Informatics II”.

New Hardware at the Institute: Robot and Powerful Computer for Artificial Intelligence

News from the institute
The Institute for Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering has acquired new hardware at the semester beginning: The Husarion robot ROSbot 2.0 Pro and the AI computer with an “AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 3970x” processor as well as a “Geforce RTX 3090” graphics card. This was done as part of the “Hochschulpakt 2020” from the state of Hesse. The equipment will be used to improve the teaching in automatisation and artificial intelligence for engineering tasks.

Cross of Merit awarded to Prof. Udo F. Meißner

Reception at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden
The honor has been awarded! In the middle of the year it was already announced that the former Head of Institute, Univ.-Prof. em. Dr.-Ing., habil. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Udo F. Meißner, is to receive the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his scientific and honorary work. The award ceremony took place during the assembly of members of the Ingenieurkammer Hessen. The IIB congratulates most cordially!

The IIB participates in a digital survey of a historical basilica in the Odenwald
As part of a cooperation between the IIB, the Odenwald Learning & Research Center and WOODFILM, the Einhardsbasilika in Michelstadt was scanned using several drones and a high-precision laser scanner from the inside and outside.
