On the “Day of Teaching” 2023, sixteen people, including Dr Luisa Kautzmann and Pascal Mosler, M.Sc. from the IIB, were awarded with the Higher Education Teaching Certificate. Both completed the certificate with the highest of two levels.

Cardboard Virtual Reality in teaching

Video project on the use of Cardboard Virtual Reality in teaching at the Institute of Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering
In the summer term of 2023, the Institute of Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering (IIB) used Cardboard Virtual Reality in a course for the first time. The HessenHub accompanied Pascal Mosler, M.Sc. on film through the conception and implementation of the bachelor course module “Geometric Modelling and Visualisation II”.

DABKO research project off to a good start

Digitally optimized sectioning and packing of activated concrete structures into Konrad-Containers when dismantling nuclear facilities
Since October 2022, the Institute of Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering has been conducting research in the field of dismantling nuclear facilities as part of the DABKO research project. The team recently received a guided tour through the Emsland nuclear power plant and participated in the seminar “KERNthemen” in Dresden.

2nd place and special prize from Ed. Züblin AG go to Maximilian Gehring for the development of a concept for process optimisation of the executing construction site logistics.
As part of the handling of a construction project, the executing construction site logistics deals with the transport and storage of building materials on the construction site.
