Dr Luisa Kautzmann and Pascal Mosler awarded with the Higher Education Teaching Certificate

On the “Day of Teaching” 2023, sixteen people, including Dr Luisa Kautzmann and Pascal Mosler, M.Sc. from the IIB, were awarded with the Higher Education Teaching Certificate. Both completed the certificate with the highest of two levels.
Dr Luisa Kautzmann, former research assistant at the Institute of Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering (IIB) and Pascal Mosler, M.Sc., research assistant at the IIB, completed the in its two consecutive levels “Basic Competences” and “Professional Competence Level” over a period of several years. On the Higher Education Teaching Certificate on 22 November 2023, the Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Diversity, Prof. Dr Heribert Warzecha, and the Head of the Department of University Didactics and Counselling, Dr Annette Glathe, handed them their certificates. “Day of Teaching”
Through their evaluation-supported further development of the teaching programme and the final implementation of an individual teaching project, they demonstrated teaching innovations in the field of informatics in civil engineering and thus contributed to ensuring the quality of teaching at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Congratulations!
Background:
Lecturers at the Technical University of Darmstadt have the opportunity to further develop their teaching skills as part of a structured in-service training programme. This takes place in various forms (workshops organised by the Center for Educational Development and Technology, peer consultations, teaching observations) and in an exchange of experiences with colleagues.
In the Higher Education Teaching Certificate – Basic Competences – the workshop “Fundamentals of university didactics” teaches how to plan courses sensibly, how to activate students and how to deal with difficult situations. The Higher Education Teaching Certificate – Professional Competence Level – includes the conception and implementation of a specific teaching innovation.
