ARGE RFIDimBau
Funding period: 2007 - 2016

Smart Energy Ranking Game

Within the research initiative ZukunftBAU, the ARGE RFIDimBau dealt with the registration, monitoring, control and documentation of processes in the architecture, construction and engineering industry using RFID technology between 2007 and 2016.

Therefore the Bergische Universität Wuppertal (BUW) explores the logistical process data in the value added chain of the civil engineering and real estate industry. The Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) examines the construction production data from the storage on the construction site, the construction and use of building until the demolition of the building. The Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) examines especially the data of the building management system in the use phase in the area of fire safety of installation engineering.

The result of all partial projects of the ARGE RFIDimBau are application which exist separate but were developed coordinately. The applications enable the capture, control, direction and documentation of the respective partial project processes. They are complete by themselves and work independently. In order to achieve a consistent digital flow of data and an enhanced sustainability of the data management in all phases of the lifecycle it is necessary do develop an overall concept which allow the use of the partial project data.

The objective of the current research project is the development of ideas for standards as part of the overall concept, which facilitates the interleaving of the already existing process data and the connection of this data to existing IT infrastructure, classification systems and article catalogs.

Partners

In addition to the Institute for Numerical Methods and Informatics in Civil Engineering, the network “ARGE RFID Technology in Construction” included the LuF Baubetrieb und Bauwirtschaft of the Bergische Universität Wuppertal (BUW), the Institute for Construction Management of the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) and the Frauenhofer Institutes for Building Physics and Microelectronic Circuits and Systems. The association cooperated with a large number of practical partners from the German construction industry.

The research project was funded by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (Bundesinstituts für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung) as part of the ZukunftBAU research initiative.
