The traditional doctoral seminar of the iib team took place this year from May 13th to May 16th 2025. The venue was the region around Marseille and Aix-en-Provence in southern France. In addition to city tours, the programme included specialist presentations by research assistants, in which current research topics were presented and discussed.

A special focus was placed on visits to two important institutions in the field of energy and safety technology: the large-scale international research project ITER, which is testing nuclear fusion as a future energy source, and the French authority ASNR for radiation protection and nuclear safety. Exciting insights into the technical status of the facilities and regulatory issues were gained on site.
