Project INSITU wins Berlin Administration Award (Berliner Verwaltungspreis)

The INSITU project, which emerged from a research collaboration between the iib and the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), took first place in the ‘Process and Quality Management’ category.

INSITU is a digital application designed to support crime scene documentation. At the center is a smartphone app that can be used to record all information at a crime scene (via pictures, videos, sketches etc.). Additionally, automated report creation is possible among others. In 2025, the pilot phase started at the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and Police Berlin and will be expanded to further authorities.

The project has now been awarded first place in the Berlin Administration Award (Berliner Verwaltungspreis) in the „Process and Quality Management“ category. The Berlin Administration Award is awarded to innovative and promising projects within Berlin’s public authorities.
